She left one day,
and ran away.
From everything she ever knew she had,
and to everything that made her sad.
Searching for something,
never knowing what,
just that thing that made her crazy,
that thing that made her cut.
She had no more scars,
they had all come apart.
The only pain she ever felt,
now came with the beating of her heart.
She was alone and lost,
but no one knew,
because the fake smiles,
made her look safe and new.
So she wrote a note one day,
and went away.
Her soul now free,
her body left to decay.
She watched from above,
as her mom came walking in.
Mom knew about the cutting,
mom just thought it came to an end.
She watched through a blur,
as the ambulance came and got her.
The doctor yelled, "We've still got time!"
As a single tear fell from this angels eye.
She decided it wasn't over,
another day she'd live to fight.
How sad she'd made her family,
all the wrong she'd set right.
Now she opens her eyes,
confused as to where she lay.
The colors of her own sweet room,
from the sun a single ray.
God was on her side that day,
when she decided to run away.
Because he gave her that single chance,
to live through one more day.
