Requiem In A Parallel Universe by Apathetic Soul
Pacing in a place of trouble,
Padded walls, a guarded door.
In this awful twisted palace,
Stark white bed and concrete floor.
Sitting in a place of silence,
Hearing nothing but his voice.
Endless ringing in my memory,
A futile fight, an unwise choice.
Standing stolid in the darkness,
Hands are tied and feet are bound.
Searching for some explanation,
Knowing that it won't be found.
Watching from behind steel barring,
Thoughts are blurred and mind is numb.
Calling out for help to no one,
Waiting for when peace will come.
In this place of sad religion,
Angels sin and atheists pray.
Rules of logic are suspended:
Winners go and losers stay.
Dying slowly, all alone now,
Feel the pain but shed no tears.
All alone but for my shadow,
Looking back on wasted years.
