You left me crying all alone
thinking everything would be okay
You left for Texas on your plane
and I called you on the way.
We talked every night
and I knew we'd be just fine
You'd be back in my arms
it was just a matter of time.
Yesterday, I woke up
with a smile on my face
I had no clue what was going on
or getting ready to take place
I heard the tragic news
and it didn't phase me at first
I continued to watch the TV.
realizing it was only getting worse.
I didn't know how to react
as my heart filled with fear,
as I realized you were involved
I couldn't hold back my tears.
I sat there in shock,
all I felt was pain and anger
knowing you could be taken from me
by a jealous stranger.
You said you'd fight for your country
You'd stand proud and be strong
but how's your baby boy supposed to react
knowing you may never come home.
It seems like a nightmare
but it's really coming true;
Each time I close my eyes
I can only think of losing you.
This is out of our hands,
it's all up to GOD now
but I promise he's gonna make it all better
and bring you home to me somehow.
