Fairy tales were real to me
simply because I believed

that everyone had their true love
a special gift sent from above

princes rescued their fair maids
and that romance never fades

I believed that dreams came true
no matter what you had been through

Everything would turn out right
with skies of blue and clouds of white

But now my skies have turned to gray
and my life's in disarray

you've destroyed my dreams, left me distraught
all without a second thought

I'll live for today just like you said
and not for the future I've come to dread

I want to thank you for stopping me
from belief in fairy tales which cannot be.
