It was on a cold dark winter's night
that she met her guardian light
she was lost confused and sad
wanted to end her life real bad.
She told him no one loved her
she said that no one cared
he assured her that as of that moment
she no longer have to be scared.
He gave her real stability
she never ever knew before
she no longer had to worry
for her faith and outlook in life he restored.
They formed a very close friendship
that somehow developed into love
she told him he was her guardian light
sent to her that night by god above.
But suddenly that friendship was broken
as she decide to come clean one night
she told him her love was for another
when the time was right.
You see her life was now stable
she had to end what they had that night
she said it was tearing her up inside
as she still battles her feelings for this guardian light.
The promised one is in waiting
like a kid at Christmas for a new toy
one that will bring him many joy,
one that he will play with then destroy.
Now this guardian light is pushed away
making room for the promised one
and it rips through his heart and soul
like a bullet fired from her gun.
