Sunset On Cape Cod Bay by Patti A. Bearse
Running barefoot through the sand.
Watery mountains crash on land.
Winds blow sand in reddened eyes.
Up above a seagull cries.
Grassy blades have beckoned me.
More beauty here then one should see.
Sun hits water, fire explodes.
Children run up darkening roads.
Moon is rising, stars appear.
Beauty, more then one can bear.
Birds say night prayers in the trees.
Begging God, protect us please.
Indian ghosts from times gone by,
sing a goodnight lullaby.
Sun sets on a Cape Cod beach.
Beyond the artists ordained reach.
