AUTUMN by Linda Floyd
Frosty mornings, air crisp and clear,
Yield to sun's warmth and cheer;
Colored leaves blanket the ground,
Hurled by wind, an eerie sound.
Fields of gourds and pumpkins, distorted shapes and sizes;
Masked children soliciting prizes.
Day's long light ends in evening's candle glow,
Welcoming winter's glistening snow.
