The Pain Inside by Isabel Caila Samuels

I've kept it all inside so far
And never let it show
That all the grief and pain I felt
Had begun to take its toll

Things are normal on the outside
As the world spins 'round and 'round
But I'm afraid that someday soon
My world will come crashing down

I seem to live in the eye of the storm
My life littered with debris
But no matter where the storm starts
The wind blows it to me

The substance of things hoped for
The evidence of things not seen
That comes to some so easy,
Is to me just a dream

I've kept it all inside so long
That I can't let go of the pain
I have to search for the tears inside
That used to fall like rain

I still shine on the outside
I smile and I laugh
But with each and every passing day
My light gets cut in half
