Stranger Was Love by Jared Lee Dudgeon
A stranger was love, unknown to thy heart
for thy heart had never met, ?cept in dreams,
nor felt it's embrace. Though I must impart,
I know not of love; it lives, so it seems,
for it is felt deep beneath thy breast.
Nothing less of love could have taken place,
for it holds thy heart captive and I at rest
and so I swear it true of love and love?s embrace.
There is no greater feeling than love,
for none ?fore love?s first date doth measure
the distance, the feelings, that love doth move;
for love doth prove life?s greatest treasure.
Before this date love was a stranger to thee,
and yet, it lived, nay lives, deep within thee!
