I was just being honest,
Struggling to let you know my beliefs.
Spent too many sleepless hours
Mulling over that age-old grief.

You know the one I speak of.
We all experience it sometimes.
?Just wish that I had said this??
Shoulda, woulda, coulda, lines.

Had to let you know just how I felt.
So I put it in a letter.
Licked that baby, placed the stamp.
Thought I was saying goodbye- forever.

But I didn?t stop to think,
Or ask the opinion of my heart.
Didn?t consider that I still want you.
Forgot to mention that important part.

Yes, it?s true, you hurt me badly.
Yes, it caused a lot of pain.
But I forgot to mention
All the love that still remains.
