Heavenly Father to you I pray
please don't allow my son to stray
Please guide him in the right direction
and I will provide loads of affection
Shield him from this world of crime
knowing it's only getting worse with time
Provide him the strength to stay free of drugs
and break away from these kids they call thugs
Continue to watch over him as you have done
because you know he is my only son
