Watching The Last Petal Fall... by TriXy*17

Autumn has come around and it’s a cold one this year,
The sea is rough and the wind is loud as it echoes in my ear.
I stand-alone on a deserted beach, the rain is falling fast,
I see my breath before my eyes; I know it will not last.

A single, shinning tear trickles down my cheek,
I feel terrible, I can’t eat and I can’t sleep.
I wonder now, what went wrong,
With a friendship that was so strong

We said we’d be best friends forever,
I remember now, why our bond was severed,
My head is spinning and you are changing
Our world is splitting and you are leaving

All I wanted was a best friend
Someone to relay on, until the very end
I should have pulled out sooner, but I was too attached
In my eyes, I always saw us as the perfect match

It takes time to heal, but I think I’ll be o.k.
It’s you I’m worried for, you have been lead astray
Even though we don’t talk and are no longer friends,
Doesn’t mean that I’m no longer watching or that I don’t care

You were like a rare flower, your petals beautiful and unique,
Always there but very hard to seek
It is strange to see you act this way
You have defiantly changed

You no longer are unique, now you are like everyone-else
When I see you, you’re a stranger to me
Autumn is here now and I’m preparing for the winter
I bring in logs, set them on the fire and watch as they turn to cinders

I remember that day in school; you walked past me in the hall
You looked at me with disgust and then just carried on
I remember it as the day,
When I saw the last petal fall
