Story Of Our Friendship by Sarah L Costello
This poem was written by myself and Leanne Gornall who is also a poet on this site.

*Written by Leanne
~Merely innocent children, smiling, laughing and playing
~It was at the young age of three in nursery we first met
~We were unaware of how our friendship would develop
~And I swear, it is those days which I’ll never forget
~Our friendship was steadily developing over the years
~And I think we were as close as friends could ever be
~The joyous days we spent together at primary school
~Are the days that showed us what friendship could be
*During our five year stay at secondary school
*Our friendship has survived so much
*It has remained strong through all our troubles
*Whilst other friendships may have just broken at the touch
*The way our friendship is at present
*Is how I wish it to stay forever
*Going strong and blossoming still
*Old memories of us I still treasure
~Our relationship has endured many twists and turns
~Each of which has enabled our friendship to grow
~I hope that we’ll be friends in many years to come
~When we’ll have our treasured memories to show
~We’ve had our share of good times along with bad
~Every one of them is held so deep in my heart
~‘Coz they each tell a truthful tale of our friendship
~With both our ups and downs I don’t want to part
*We have gained such a lot
*From our years both bad and good
*Not to take each other for granted
*Just like any true friends should
*Looking back at our friendship
*Over it’s long thirteen years
*Reminiscing over our laughs and joys
*And our troubles and tears
~Over the years I’ve learnt how important friendship is
~And I want you to know, I’ll always be here for you
~When your world becomes dark and you feel so alone
~Look back over our memories and you won’t feel blue
*Sarah, you are amazing
*The best friend, it is true
*And I count my self so lucky
*That I have a true friendship with you
