We arrived at mom's on Christmas morn
greeted by aromas from the kitchen
lights twinkling on the tree
a Christmas movie playing on TV

We all gather in the living room
young and old alike
talking, laughing, having fun
what a beautiful sight

Everyone is dressed up pretty
taking pictures of each other
smiles of thanks on our faces
Christmas wrappings scattered about

The table is weighed down heavily
with all sorts of delicious foods
my daughter leads us in prayer
thanking God for blessing this family

With good health and love
for the food we are about to eat
lastly wishing for
the world to be at peace

Once dinner has been cleaned up
dessert has been served
we grownups sit and vegetate
while the children play with their new toys

As day turns into night
we all leave for our homes
Christmas day may have come to an end
but the memories made are priceless.
