He keeps a watchful eye on me
His intentions are at all times sweet
And that’s enough for me to know
For all he’s done; I’d let him go…send him free
For as long as I’ve known him
He’s allowed me to rest my head and cry on his knees
His loving hand stroking my worn out face
Telling me, “Everything will be okay, one day. I promise.�
Guardian Angel why have you chosen me?
Why have I been worth saving?
What are you thinking…why are you here?
I ask him again why am I worth saving? I honestly can’t say.
For all he’s done; I’d let him fall down on me
If his wings ever did suffer from weakening
Only question is am I strong enough
To support the both of us…?
Will I drag him down
Or lessen his fall?
How can I alleviate anyone’s pain…much less my own Guardian’s?
Tell me, what is possible? Please clue me in.
His eyes speak to me; he sees past my skin and all that is surfaced
Whispering voice offering such comfort to me
Bite my tongue; clench my fists; dig my nails in
He tells me, “Please stop hurting yourself�
That I know it only makes things worse
“I can’t help myself�
Guardian Angel won’t you let me free you of your duty?
He’s done so much
And what have I done?
Guardian Angel says he won’t let me go,
His spirit is strong and so is his hold
Not until I grow wings of my own
And even then…
He’ll lastingly be my personal Guardian
My protector, my strength, my invincible carrier…for when I need a hand to hold, a neck to wrap my arms around
If shot he’ll catch me in my downward spiral no matter when
Before I hit the ground he’ll grab me and hold close
My Guardian Angel won’t let me down…he lifts me up to safety
