There comes a point in time
when we have to say goodbye.
Not just goodbye to our friends and family,
but to an entire lifetime.
Once we leave,
we can never go back.
We step out into the world
away from our sheltered, safe lives,
and there will be hard times,
but if we are strong, we persevere.
We hold onto our dreams for
nothing is ever too far away.
We will always cherish memories
and people we once knew
because not even time can erase our yesterdays.
We look around us now
waiting for this time to arrive,
wondering what will happen,
who will we become?
We can never know now what our futures might hold,
the answer lies beyond the horizon.
