Bad Habit by Francisco

© Francisco Guzman 2005

I know that during the lonely nights, you cry
I know that when you find yourself
Heartbroken again, you ask why

You say he treats you right,
And you say that everything is alright
When you plainly know you are fooling yourself

You know what he has been doing
And yet you hold on
You say that you need him
But I’m telling you its time to move on

Don’t try to convince me, of what I already know is not true
Don’t you see that he was lying when he said he loves you?

I know that he hurt you, because I can see it in your eyes
I know that you are scared that once again he will say “goodbye

You say I don’t understand, when I really do
I just don’t want him taking advantage of you
You know what’s going on; you just deny yourself the facts
Don’t convince yourself, that if he leaves you
You won’t know how to react

I know that there is a tear on your pillow,
for every time he caused you pain
But I am here to tell you everything will be okay
I know that you need a hand, and I can give it to you
I just want you to understand, that he is no good for you

He keeps apologizing for the same things
He doesn’t realize all the heart ache he brings
Why did you fall for this guy?

The situation may be hard,
But it’s no reason to let yourself go
It’s all a matter of finding the strength within
Maintaining strong, And moving on

You know that a relationship is never supposed to be this way
But I can understand
You are just too ashamed and scared,
That your love for anyone will go away

You know the things he does,
You gave him so many chances
He does them over and over again
Lets you down time and time again

And when its all done,
You are the one, whose heart was left in pieces

You break up, and then you make up
And yet again, it happens once more
You try to move on,
But next morning he is at your door

I know that you are being blinded, into believing something that was never true
But I am here to tell you, that I will help you pull through

This Bad Habit, has taken to much from you
And I know that its hard to recover after all you’ve been through

I know that the memories remain
But just let it go, carry on
And you will soon see,
That time will cure the pain
