I met you one day by mistake,
I guess we both weren’t quiet awake,
At first I may have been shy and secluded,
But inside I did feel included,
I am glad you made me feel that way,
I only stayed alive to see you every day,
Best friends forever that’s what we agreed,
We knew our promise would succeed,
But then love interfered,
And a large problem appeared,
Do I love you as a friend,
Or is it love, true love till the end,
It was a decision that I myself hade to make,
But all my friends had to interfere and take,
Matters into their own hands,
And your friendship with me began to fall like hourglasses sand,
Why could me and you both just get along,
I guess our hypothesis was all wrong,
I needed to share with you what I think,
So I wrote it down on paper in fine, black ink,
A letter could not describe my feelings for you,
But all that it did say was 100% true,
I guess you did not feel the same,
It may have been all a little game,
But it felt like more to me,
But in the end it was not meant to be,
At least now we can be best friends,
Like we promise, until times ends,
I can still be by your side,
Watching your life take bigger strides,
We walk down a street with happy grins,
Our wonderful friendship finally begins,
Just remember I still love you,
