Remembering Dad by Sonia Arrowood
With hands so strong, they felt like steel.
So stubborn, nothing broke his will.
He lived in times when things were bad
but held tight to all he had.
He worked to support his family true
and never questioned what he should do.
To his Son, he gave inner traits.
His daughters, he walked to their mates.
Dad was a man of conscience true
and no one knew when he was blue.
His laughter filled both time and space.
Behind closed eyes, I see his face.
This man of bent and broken back,
the pain of age will no longer wrack.
For his soul is now with god,
no more pain will hurt his body.
My dad, a man of love and strength,
has left behind that which meant
The love of family, god and man.
forever in my heart will he stand.
Strong and true, forever be,
the only man, dad to me...
