Little Things Missed by Martha A. Franks
Wet warm kisses upon the cheek
Soft pitter-patter of little people's feet,
Big bear hugs and I love yours,
Sweet smiles a plenty to chase away the blues...
Bedtime stories and soft lullabies,
Play dough cookies and surprise mud pies,
Small hand prints on the refrigerator door,
Cookie crumbs fallen on the kitchen floor...
Building blocks scattered here and there,
Crayons and coloring books in a favorite chair,
Fuzzy stuffed animals lying around on the bed;
Small soft pillows for little sleepy-heads...
The presence of grandchildren fills a home with bliss,
In their absence, these are the little things one does miss.
