I'll never forget that night you were conceived.
It was a cold rainy night I believe.
Your mom and I were so deeply in love.
I don't know what in the world we were thinking of.
The whole nine months I swore you were a boy.
I even went out and bought boy toys.
I was in the waiting room when you were born.
It was dead smack in the middle of a snowstorm.
Congratulations sir you have a daughter.
You can see her after we clean her up in some water.
When I first laid eyes on you I couldn't breathe.
Didn't wanna give you back to the nurse, I didn't wanna leave.
I can't believe it, I got a little girl.
That was the new beginning of my little world.
Brought you home to the place I made.
We had roaches at first but I sprayed and sprayed.
If I could, I'd do it all again.
The nighttime feedings, at 3am.
Finally back to sleep, I sang you a lullaby.
Now I'm up changing pampers an hour later I wanna cry.
You were just a busybody, you weren't a bad baby.
Now look at you now, you're quite a little lady.
I remember your first steps remember your first words.
Those were the sweetest words I ever heard.
Do you remember when I taught you how to ride a two-wheeler.
You had me running around the block like a Pittsburgh Steeler.
And the first time you made a shot and it went in.
I screamed so loud it shook the gym.
Your mom and I didn't work out as planned.
When you get older baby, I hope you'll understand.
It doesn't matter baby, dad ain't leaving.
I'll do everything I can for you till I stop breathing.
If you want the world I'll give you the world.
