Daddy by Nadine S. Reyes

A name I rarely seem to use,
only to myself, thinking of you..
I often wondered what I did.
'I promise, I promise I'll be a good kid!

These were the words I was going to say,
I saved them for that special day.
I wanted to make it up to you,
there had to be something I could do.

So I never let anyone take your place,
One time daddy I punched him in the face!
No ones going to get in the way,
When my daddy gets here ,were going to play.

Soon the years began to pass
when I came home, I never bothered to ask,
I knew the words my mother would say..

Oh honey he must be busy today
Of course he hasn't forgotten about you
And ,Yes baby, he loves you too

I finally excepted what she had to say...
Daddy , just forgot.... about our special day.
